Ubud Village

Ubud is located 35 km northeast of Bali's International Airport. It is attractive to tourists for a variety of reasons. On a relatively small island with a horde of attractions, Ubud is centrally located, There are plenty reasons why Ubud was voted in recently as the most fascinating city of Asia by Condé Nast Traveler.
The Ubud area is around two- to three hundred meters above sea level and surrounded by rice fields, which makes it noticeably cooler than then other tourist destinations in Bali. Neighbouring villages are well known for unique bamboo crafts and furniture, wood- and stone carving and many other crafts.

Interest place in ubud village :

 1.  Tegalalang Rice Terrace
  
Tegalalang Rice village located on the north-south road from Kintamani and Ubud. Tegalalang countryside is located at 5 km northern part of Ubud Village is one of the famous tourist objects in Bali situated in North of Ubud Bali featured by the amazing rice terrace set the cliff. Tegalalang Village is located on 600 m above sea levels covered by good temperature where most of the villagers as a farmer.
Tegalalang Rice Terrace is one of the more popular rice terrace to visit. The rice terrace is designed very beautiful with exquisite hollowing rice field and precisely located on the hill bank. In this place, you will see the Balinese farmer do their rice field in oblique area complete with its system irrigation. You will enjoy the beautiful panorama of valley with rice terrace and coconut trees ornament it.
Tegalalang Village is become famous because of the beautiful rice terrace that the tourist to come and see this amazing panorama. The visitors who visit this village will discover the beautiful green rice terrace on the cliff bank and understanding how does the local farmer work on it hardly to make rice. It is a beautiful site that you must go and visit directly and you will be in real Balinese ambiance.




2.  Ubud Monkey Forest

Ubud monkey forest  is a small rain forest dwelt by some group of monkeys and other tropical animals. It is strategically located in the hearth of ubud village, precisely located in the region of Padang Tegal Village, Ubud Sub district and Gianyar Regency. Monkey Forests in Balinese language called Wanara Wana are spread out in the island and Ubud Monkey Forest itself own very important function of the continuity the monkey habitat in Bali. Meanwhile the local community own important role to keep this forest naturally in order to all wild animals able to live smoothly. 


Monkey forest condition :
Ubud Monkey Forest is dwelt by 200 monkeys, pertained to long tail inclusive macaques or macaca fascicularis group which owns the wide disseminating area. Among the amount monkeys living in this forest, there are 23 adult male, 79 adult female and 98 still baby. All the monkeys in this forest consisted of three groups, dwell certain area and use the certain place and certain time. However, it also happened that entire group can use the forest and whenever two groups are existing at same place and time, they will fight each other. These monkeys are believed as Gods Guard of Dalem Agung Temple, The Hindu Temple exist in the middle of forest. There are three Holy Temples in this monkey forest and those are existing surround the forest and it is estimated built in the middle of 14 century, in the early governance of Gelgel dynasty. Dalem Agung Temple is located in northwest from the forest represent the existence of most important temples. Beside of two others, that are Permandian Temple, in Westside from this forest and Prajapati Temple which is located in south-east side where the place of Dewa Siwa (Siwa God), one of the Khayangan Temple in Padang Tegal Village.  


3. Painting museum

Painting Museum is modern museum collecting the ancient Painting consecution and modern from the famous artist. Ubud is a place where the world's painter found their inspiration to create a painting. You will see some of the world masterpiece from the famous artists in this museum that completes your tour with wonderful experience. The museum is design with Balinese architecture with the natural nature ambience surround it. You will see the amazing art on canvas created by the world class painter and masterpiece just at the Painting museum. There are several painting museums available in Ubud which you will visit one of them. 
4.  Ubud Palace / Puri saren
Puri Saren is an Ubud King Palace where it is used as a governance center in the empire era. You can see the beautiful houses building that are designed with Balinese traditional style and full of wood carving decorates it. The luxury Entrance Gate (Candi Bentar) and dressy ancient house building are decorated by the fertile tropical garden. This Palace is right located in the hearth of Ubud Village and aposite to the Traditional Art Market.

 

5.  Ubud Art Market


Ubud Market is offering you multifarious of handicraft that
you can bring home for souvenir. It market presents the variety of art work/handicraft like wood carving, bag, painting, clothes, idol and a lot of more. You will enjoy your shopping time in the beautiful place with full variety of Balinese art work. The friendly sellers who come from the local community are offering the selection of your need to bring home.




Batuan Temple

Batuan Temple is a beautiful Hindu temple set in the middle of Batuan Village strategically located beside of the main road from Denpasar to Ubud. It is a local village temple and a part of three major temples in a village that is called Tri Khayangan. Batuan Temple is beautifully designed with Balinese architecture and antique Balinese ornaments décor entire temple building including the entrance gate. As usual temple in Bali, Batuan Temple is also featured by the three areas includes Nista Mandala (outside area) Madya Mandala (Middle area) and Utama Mandala (Main temple area).
Batuan Temple Function As usual Tree Khayangan Temples in Bali, Batuan Temple is used to worship to the god for the villagers of Batuan. This temple festival is gradually conducted every six month according to the Balinese calendar and on this day, entire local people come to this temple to worship to the god. This temple is located in Batuan Village, Sukawati District and Gianyar Regency. It is just 25 minutes away from Denpasar City or Ubud Village or 30 minute from Gianyar town. 

Batuan Temple were founded in the year 944 isaka (1020 AD). Nearly 1000 years old.The Batuan Temple is a Puseh Temple category based on the concept of “Tri Kahyangan or Tri Murti” taught by Mpu Kuturan around the 10th century to the Balinese Hindu community at the time.
Tri Kahyangan or Tri Murti including 3 temples :
Desa or Village Temple as a place to worship of God Brahma (the Creator)
Puseh Temple to worship of God Vishnu (the Preserver)
Dalem Temple to worship of Lord Shiva (the Destroyer)

Celuk Village

Celuk Village is the famous village in Bali as a tourist destination cause of the local residents is very proactive and full of innovation to the gold and silver crafting. These silver ad gold smiths do their work in modern designs when they are ordered. Along the main road we can see a lot of art shop. Each art shop  has a work shop where the visitors can see the artisants make their work. The village of  Celuk it self on the both side of the main road.Celuk Village is famous for the incredible gold and silver handicrafts which are available around this area for very low prices.


Celuk Village is strategically located in main road from Denpasar to Gianyar regency which is about 5 km from Denpasar town . Along way of Celuk Village about 2 km, we will find in the left and right side the various type of gold and silver shop which are opened to the domestic and international tourist. It is also inside of this village, we will find the activities and workshop of crafting which are ready to be ordered in small or huge number.  




Tohpati Village ( Batik & hand weaving )

Tohpati Village is widely known as the center of handmade Balinese batik with various colors and shapes. Here the visitors will be exhibited the batik making and hand weaving process. Finally you can buy some to bring home. The specialties of Balinese Batik can be seen from the strong Javanese motifs, some of modern Batik applies the painting objects such as Balinese culture, ceremonies, beautiful site or mythological figures. Batik is one of the most beautiful wearable art and the approach to the other side of Balinese rich culture.
